Reggie’s Cause

Reggie’s Cause

Reggie’s Cause is a grassroots, family-led initiative founded in honour of Reggie, a young boy with a lionheart and a story that continues to touch lives.

Born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), Reggie faced major open-heart surgery within days of being born. After a difficult start to life and many months in hospital, Reggie received a lifesaving heart transplant at just two years old. Now thriving five years post-transplant, Reggie still lives with complex medical needs but meets each day with bravery, curiosity, and a cheeky smile.

Reggie’s journey—his surgeries, setbacks, neurodiversity, and strength—has inspired us to create a cause that gives back to families like ours. We know firsthand how isolating, exhausting, and overwhelming life can be when your child lives with chronic illness or faces long hospital stays. We also know how vital it is to feel seen, supported, and soothed during those times.

Our Why

Reggie’s Cause was born out of lived experienc. Our family spent countless nights on hospital wards, countless hours comforting our child, and countless moments wondering how we’d keep going. Alongside the immense love we have for Reggie came trauma, fear, and fatigue—not just for us, but for his younger brother too.

We started Reggie’s Cause because we never want another family to feel like they’re walking that road alone.

Whether it’s the exhaustion of a hospital stay, the overwhelm of a new diagnosis, or the daily challenges of neurodiversity—we want to provide comfort, connection, and calm where it’s needed most.

In Collaboration with Juvenis Books

Reggie’s Cause proudly works in collaboration with Juvenis Books —a publishing and resource platform created with children’s well-being at its heart.

Through this partnership, we develop:

* Emotionally supportive children’s books
* Therapeutic journals and activity packs
* Regulation and resilience tools
* Printable school & peer support materials

Every product we create through Juvenis Books is inspired by Reggie and his friends—children with extraordinary needs and extraordinary stories. These resources are used directly in our comfort kits, holiday clubs, and family support work.

What We Do

🎒 Reggie’s Comfort Kits

Our signature project, these free care packages, are filled with calming tools, sensory items, books, and personalised support materials designed to ease hospital stays and difficult days. Kits are donated to children in hospitals, transplant patients, or those facing emotional overwhelm.

📚 Books & Journals

We publish and distribute inclusive children’s books, often written from lived experience. These stories support conversations about illness, grief, neurodiversity, and emotions in ways children understand.

🧩 Regemo Boxes

Developed originally for Reggie, our Regemo Boxes are emotional regulation kits filled with sensory tools, calming prompts, and visual supports. They help children recognise and regulate big emotions at home or in educational settings.

🏡 Reggie’s Clubhouse

An inclusive holiday club designed for both neurodivergent and neurotypical children. These sessions are themed, sensory-safe, and welcoming to the whole family. Parents are invited to stay and take part—or simply take a break.

Who We Support

Reggie’s Cause supports:

* Children with medical complexities or long-term health needs
* Families undergoing transplants or living with chronic illness
* Neurodivergent children and their siblings (“glasshouse children”)
* Schools, hospitals, and communities seeking trauma-informed tools

We also work to raise awareness,  isolation, and create a more compassionate culture around childhood illness, invisible disabilities, and neurodiversity.
